Cross-layer peer-to-peer multimedia attacks

Project Summary:
This project surveyed existing known vulnerabilities in multimedia peer-to-peer networks.  Specifically we looked at problems deriving from the lack of suitable incentives in peer-to-peer networks.  A user might choose to withhold upstream bandwidth from another user (thereby saving money if bandwidth is metered) by pretending to lack the resources to provide the QoS required for real-time multimedia applications.

Tristan Henderson is preparing a survey paper which will be submitted to a workshop or journal.
