Digital Evidence Retrieval |
Project Summary: Development of a tool to allow law enforcement investigators to glean more information from images stored on seized computers, potentially assisting them in identifying suspects. Software can identify such things as the make and model of camera used to take the images under investigation, and the date and time the picture was taken. Provides no-cost tool to aid law enforcement in digital evidence retrieval. Distributed to all Internet Crimes Against Children task forces and to law enforcement personnel throughout the country. In use by law enforcement nationally, in more than half of the states. Note: Dartmouth, to-date, receives no credit or compensation for this program. This was adopted by Guidance Software. They make e-CASE a part of their commercial product.
