Project Summary: This priority research project will assess the interoperability of available CIMS, data fusion solutions, and deliver a consensus-driven framework for the development and implementation of standards required by emergency management agencies in this domain.  This effort will be based on rigorous information collection and analysis, and driven by identified needs at the federal, state, and local level.

The completed survey analysis was presented before an expert practitioner working group which included a cross-section of experts in the field of emergency management that are familiar with the existing technology and the needs of the emergency management community as a whole.  This working group was convened to discuss and come to consensus on the interoperability of existing CIMS platforms and efforts from the public and private sectors toward interoperability.  The final report is now complete, following review by our advisory panel and members of the working group.  This document is a comprehensive review of the current status of CIMS interoperability and details the findings of the literature review; CIMS:  Market Survey, Data Fusion Market Survey, and Workshop Proceedings.
