Current ISTS projects bring cutting-edge research and a broad understanding of cyber security and trust to both the public and private sector. The research and educational opportunities ISTS provides improves the IT community's ability to design secure computer systems and protect them from attacks, enables people and organizations to form secure trust relationships across networked computing devices, and improves understanding of the social, economic, and policy barriers to the development and deployment of such technology.

ISTS-sponsored research encompasses a wide array of research projects and educational opportunities. Here we present our current efforts in three broad focus areas:
