ISTS Research Fellow and Postdoctoral Research Associate
Dartmouth College, Department of Computer Science
Anna Shubina did her undergraduate studies in the Department of Mathematics and Mechanics of the Moscow State University. She received Master's degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science at Brandeis University in Massachusetts in 1998 and joined Dragon Systems, Inc. as a Research Engineer working on the core speech recognition engine MREC of the popular Dragon Naturally Speaking product.
At Dartmouth, Anna worked with Professor Sean Smith on privacy-related research topics and with Professor Amit Chakrabarti on private information retrieval. She also worked to connect Dartmouth researchers with the Tor (http://www.torproject.org/) community. She received her Ph.D. in 2007 and is now working as a Research Associate on an ISTS fellowship. Her main research interest is in Privacy and Anonymity in computing environments. She is currently working on trusted computing and wireless networking-related projects and helps direct Dartmouth's student security team.
