| Frederick Lane Author, Attorney, Expert Witness |
Frederick Lane is an author, attorney, expert witness, and professional speaker on the legal and cultural implications of emerging technology. A graduate of Boston College Law School and Amherst College, Lane is the author of five books, including most recently "American Privacy: The Four-Hundred Year History of Our Most Contested Right," which was published by Beacon Press in January 2010.
In addition to his writing, Lane has worked as a computer forensics expert for the past decade, assisting attorneys and their clients across the country in the investigation and defense of a wide range of cases, including embezzlement, domestic relations, obscenity, child pornography, and first degree murder. As an acknowledged expert in subjects covered by his books and professional work, he has frequently been invited to lecture before college, university, and professional audiences on Internet technology, workplace and personal privacy, computer forensics, and censorship issues.
