Gary Kessler

Gary C. Kessler is an Associate Professor of Computer & Digital Forensics (C&DF), director of the Champlain College Center for Digital Investigation (C3DI), and coordinator of Information Assurance Education and Research at Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont, where he has taught since 2000. Gary started the C&DF and Computer Networking & Information Security programs at Champlain and is the principal investigator for the college's Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education (CAEIAE).

Gary is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Computer Examiner (CCE). He has a B.A. in Mathematics from Humboldt State University, an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Vermont, an Ed.S. in Computing Technology in Education (CTE) from Nova Southeastern University, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in CTE at Nova.

Gary was instrumental in the adoption of computer crime legislation in Vermont and is the founding chair of the Vermont InfraGard chapter. He is the lead mobile device examiner to the Vermont Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) and Internet Crimes Task Forces, and a member of the High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA), High Tech Crime Consortium (HTCC), and International Society of Forensic Computer Examiners (ISFCE). Gary is the co-author of two professional texts and over sixty articles, a frequent speaker at industry events, on the editorial board of the Journal of Digital Forensics, Security and Law, and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Digital Forensic Practice.
