Marc Evans Chief Technology Officer Umbra Data

Marc has 30 years experience in network security, software design, and Internet routing optimization. As the CTO at Umbra Data, Marc is responsible for the technological foundation of the company’s offered services as well as its comprehensive C&C intelligence – currently the best in existence. 

Prior to Umbra Data, Marc founded New England Software Hackery, a consultancy focused on areas of system security evaluation and reinforcement, working with companies such as Trend Micro, Intellireach, and Sockeye Networks. At Trend Micro, Marc was the senior software architect for network-deployed malware detection platforms. Marc created and was the CEO of The Destek Group, developing its Internet access service and designing complex network architecture. Marc also founded Synergistics and worked with organizations such as Internap, the State of New Hampshire, and the Open Software Foundation. Marc has experience with over twenty computer languages and more than ten operating systems. Marc attended North Adams State College where he studied Computer Science.
